Project Introduction

In order to solve the need of a Hebei glass factory's float glass process using nitrogen as the shielding gas, this factory decided to adopt ASU’s complete sets of air separation system to establish a nitrogen gas station. This factory use well-known international PLC factory equipment as its control system, and Wellincontrol's Kingview as its SCADA. The system uses 4 PLC separately control three sets of nitrogen air separation equipments and a set of vaporization system, using three Kingview installed PCs' PC monitoring system with PLC composed PLC communication network, these three machines are parallel dispositions, if any problem occurs it will no affect the other PCs, greatly increase the system's integrity.

System Requirements

- Using PC monitoring software to carry out data collection for the on-site separation equipment, PC through specialized cable and PLC constitutes a private network connection communication

- Data collected is stored in the Kingview software database to facilitate the historical data query and accident recover

- Three sets of nitrogen devices PLC control independently, will not affect each other, through public system to transport nitrogen to the factory

- System uses modular control design, clear structure, flexible controls

- Display of the air separation system query’s real-time data can be done on-site, also it can provide data for upper level to access

Solution Explanation

In the entire system, in accordance to the functions they can be divided into three levels: on-site control layer, data acquisition monitoring layer, and application layer.

On-site control layer: Using foreign and domestic well-known PLC series products to control systems and air separation nitrogen vaporization system valves, pumps and other equipments.

Data acquisition monitoring layer: Responsible for acquisition of three air separation nitrogen vaporization systems and total of four PLC to receive data, supervisory system uses 3 monitoring system, which each has have been installed with Kingview infinite point configuration software, using parallel structure it has greatly increase monitoring software’s stability. Users based on their jurisdictions limit may access data on any supervisory systems, and may remotely control the on-site valves. System also offers a set of key parameters, valve PID parameter setting, real-time and historical data trend viewing, automatic daily critical-data-statements printing and other functions.

In the on-site data acquisition control layer, separating control management jurisdictions operator jurisdictions are particularly important to parameter settings, need corresponding authority management personnel to implement, and operators only have the jurisdiction to edit some basic on-site’s normal operation of the equipment maintenance of normal operation.

Application layer: Central control layer located in the glass factory-computing center, equipped with a server, install a "64 point + web" authorized Kingview, with on-site monitoring system constitutes a data acquisition network. Its main function is to achieve on-site monitoring system of real-time data, historical data, alarm data etc to process unified saving and web publishing and so on. Server deploys dual NIC, one NIC connects to the data acquisition network, the other NIC connects to the office network, achieve network isolation, most factory personnel have access to server data, can not be found at the on-site monitoring system.
