DeviceNet is a low level network that provides connections between simple industrial devices like sensors and actuators and higher level devices like controllers. EtherNet/IP converters and gateways are useful in transferring data between Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP networks. Data is read from the registers of Modbus RTU slave devices and Modbus TCP servers and fed into the input registers of EtherNet/IP scanner devices.
