In VehicleVehicle tracking allows you to visually see the location of vehicles out in the field on a map.  Vehicle tracking can help increase productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.  It can ensure deliveries are made in a timely manner, despite traffic or other delays.  Tracking systems can eliminate wasted time and lower fuel and maintenance costs.   Important information like stops can be logged.  Alarm conditions like when a stop is over a certain time limit can trigger an email or text message to be sent out to the proper personnel.

M2M Vehicle Tracking Applications

M2M applications are the ideal answer for a wide range of applications because wireless transmission makes it easy for devices in different locations to communicate with each other.  Wireless technology is especially helpful in mobile monitoring systems where instant alarm functions are required.  Cellular technology is a desirable choice for wireless communication in mobile tracking applications since a vehicle may travel over great distances and cellular networks provide ample coverage.

Marine vehicle and automobile tracking management may require the logging of an automobiles location at one minute intervals.  Wireless devices like G-4500P-3GWA or GT-540P which use the cellular network can be installed in the vehicle and can transmit the vehicles location back to a control center.  In the control center a PC based SCADA system running software like KingSCADA can show the vehicles position on a map.  If the vehicle has average stops of less than five minutes each, an email alarm can be sent out if a stop exceeds 30 minutes.  Alarm notifications can help to inform related vehicles of a route delay so alterations to the system can be made if necessary.  Delivery stops can be adjusted as necessary to maximize efficiency.  Traffic conditions can often create unexpected delays.  If a vehicle is not at a specified location by a certain time of day, an alarm can be triggered which can notify management about the delay.

G-4500-3GWA and GT-540P utilize the cellular network and take a SIM card for wireless communication.  They support Modbus RTU protocol for easy interface with other devices and systems.  ICP DAS USA provides M2M RTU Center which allows for easy interface with remote Modbus RTU devices.  The Modbus RTU devices can easily be accessed through SCADA software like KingSCADA.
